Fancy having a conference in grand opera style? Although not an opera house, the Juliusz Slowacki Theatre offers the same grandeur and opulence in a smaller, more intimate space. It is one of the most well-known theatre in Poland, and is classified as one of the most precious monuments of theatre architecture in Europe. Apart from its own artistic activities, the Theatre offers its premises for hire as meetings venue.
Built in 1893, the three-level theatre can accommodate about 300 guests in the stalls and up to around 500 guests with the upper levels filled up. Obviously, this venue is perfect for conventions, business meetings and award ceremonies. This being a theatre with high ceilings, there would be no problem with AV projections and setting up stage backdrop. The Theatre can provide the necessary technical support in AV and lighting.
When an organizer rents the theatre, it also gets to use the beautiful ‘Mirror Room’ on level 2 for gala dinner (60 persons) or cocktail reception (150 persons). This is obviously insufficient if the event gets just quarter full, but the guests may spill over into the grand entrance foyer and other hallways. These foyer and hallways may also be set up for coffee breaks, cocktail functions and tabletop exhibition displays if required, at no extra cost. Organizers are advised to bring in their own caterers for F&B functions, although the Theatre does provide tables and chairs.
The Juliusz Slowacki Theatre is situated around the Main Market Square is easily accessible from hotels and attractions.
