The 483-room Hotel Arts is the Ritz Carlton in Barcelona. This is where the “Peix”, or Frank Gehry’s Golden Fish sculpture can be viewed at really close range. However, the “Peix” somehow looks more impressive from afar than on close view. Nevertheless, it still serves as an interesting backdrop to outdoor cocktail reception at the hotel poolside. And there are many other terraces and garden spaces throughout the hotel for holding outdoor functions for 20 to 200 guests.
Back to more serious business, the hotel’s Gran Salo Gaudi ballroom can manage about 800 guests in classroom-style seating arrangement. The ballroom can be configured into a variety of sizes and can be partitioned into maximum 4 rooms. However, the ceiling height of 4.35m is not very high, thus limiting stage backdrop and projection screen size. Smaller conference may make use of Salo Pau Casal, which has a classroom capacity of 240 and can be divided into 2 smaller rooms. There are 11 other smaller rooms for breakout sessions or workshops.
For more exclusive meetings, such as senior management or board meetings, perhaps the meeting rooms on level 40 and 41 are more suitable, with space for 12 to 42 people boardroom-style.
