Entering the Jerónimos Monastery, one can almost imagine a grand cocktail reception for hundreds of guests at its interior garden courtyard, while the banquet is being set up along the wide, marbled corridors surrounding the courtyard. An ensemble playing music from the Baroque era with performers and service staff in period costumes complete the theme.
The Jerónimos Monastery is a magnificent 16th century building. The construction of this building was started in 1501 by King Manuel I and finished a century later. This Unesco World Heritage Site is an outstanding example of late Gothic and Renaissance architecture and is regarded as one of Lisbon’s finest landmarks. For a MICE group holding a gala event here, the experience will surely be memorable.
The Monastery’s open areas available for private functions can accommodate up to 1,200 guests for cocktail reception. Smaller group may consider the Old Refectory, an indoor space for up to 500 guests for cocktail reception for 250 for banquet. For more information, please visit: www.mosteirojeronimos.pt
