As a purpose-built concert and conference centre, the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB) is of course blessed with a great variety of auditoria, conference halls and meeting rooms to cater to all kinds of needs and sizes. All the function rooms and halls are well equipped with hi-tech lighting and sound system, as well as built-in interpreters' booths.
The Main Auditorium and Small Auditorium are suitable for concerts for 1,200 and 350 audiences respectively, but can also be used for convention meetings. Most of the seminar and conference rooms have natural daylight and offer good views of either the river or the fountain. There are large foyer areas for tea breaks, cocktail or even table-top exhibitions. Smaller rooms are available for workshops and breakout sessions, but these rooms feel a little stuffy as they have smaller windows and somewhat dated furniture.
CCB is located in one of Lisbon’s most important historical and cultural areas. It overlooks Rio Tejo (Tagus River) and the Jerónimos Monastery diagonally across the road. Hence, MICE organizers may consider having formal convention meetings in the day at the CCB, followed by a reception and dinner at the Jerónimos Monastery.
