Bessa Hotel Liberdade is a relatively new hotel which started operations only from 3 February 2015.

The facade of the hotel building is beautifully restored and conserved. Inside this classical architecture is contemporary interior design with tones of black and red. The design concept carries through into its 113 guestrooms. Most rooms in this 4-star hotel are fairly spacious and comfortable, especially the suite rooms. Meeting space is limited as the function room, which can be sub-divided into 4 smaller rooms, can only fit 20 persons when all partitions are opened up. There is, however, a pool and a neatly kept garden for small theme parties.

The springing up of new boutique hotels like Bessa Hotel (which was launched first in Porto) is another example of entrepreneurs revitalizing the city by giving new life to old, disused buildings. Perhaps a sign of recovery in the economy, Lisbon is expecting 20 more of such boutique hotels by this year.
