The Praya Palazzo in Bangkok is a historic building constructed in 1923 as a residence for Col. Praya Chollabhumipanich. Located across the Chao Phraya River and accessible only via ferry service, the European-styled building exudes a sense of exclusivity and old-world charm.
Alighting from the private jetty and entering the grass lawn area, one can practically imagine being part of a 1920s cocktail party. The interior dining area is also charming without being overly lavish. It is perhaps best suited for not more than 40 guests or it will feel a bit of a squeeze.
It has potential to be a luxury MICE venue, except that the food quality is mediocre. The traditional Thai menu and presentation lack creativity and the luxe factor. There is much room for improvement in this aspect.
