An interesting MICE venue in Seoul is Fradia – a restaurant and bar located at the Hangang Park. Built on water at the southern bank of Hangang River, it commands a magnificent view of north Seoul, especially at night.
The restaurant and bar on the third floor, simply called “The A” bar, is an excellent venue for cocktail reception and networking session for about 140 guests. The A has a relaxed ambience and it offers both indoor and alfresco dining area, as well as a private dining room. The all-glass walls allow good view of the river and the city be it indoor, outdoor or in the private room.
Second floor houses the ballroom, Hall Gung. It has fairly decent ceiling height and can sit about 150 guests in classroom or banquet-style seating arrangement, with staging and backdrop. Floor-to-ceiling height glass windows on the river-facing side allow natural light and provide scenic view. Another smaller room on the first level is available for smaller meetings or breakout sessions of about 20 people.
Fradia is a good alternative meeting venue from the usual hotels and convention centres. However, the location seems to be a bit secluded, and event organizers may need to battle with traffic jams to get the delegates there on time.
As Fradia’s official website is in Korean language only, for more information in English, please click here . However, do take note that some of the data on the website is not accurate, and MICEreview stands by our own estimates of sitting capacities.
