Artagonist is a new hotel located in a renovated building dating back to the late 15th century. What strike the visitor to this hotel is the natural sunlight and a large wall mural at the lobby. As the name suggests, Artagonist is a combination of two words – Art and Antagonist – which describes the artistic and edgy character of the hotel as opposed to general expectation.
The hotel guest rooms are each decorated with wall paintings and sculptural installations by different artists, and due to the architecture of this building, rooms belonging to the same category may also have slightly different layout and configuration. Although the interior of the hotel is totally renovated, guests can still touch and feel the restored walls from the 15th century in the some of the rooms and corridors.
Despite Art being a focus, the hotel adopts the latest technology. For example, the hotel rooms are equipped with mobile room key functions. Once the mobile key app is downloaded, guests will be able to lock and unlock their rooms, control the lighting and temperature, and order additional services through their smartphones.
The hotel’s 34 rooms can accommodate up to 65 guests. Due to the lack of meeting space, Artagonist Hotel is best suited as a unique accommodation for small incentive groups or as one of the supporting hotel options for larger meetings.
Nevertheless, the hotel’s restaurant run by Chef does provide some private space for dining and small meeting. The chef specialises in serving interesting degustation menus using fresh local ingredients. The menu changes from time to time and every experience is a new one for the guests.
