Nagasaki Brick Hall literally takes its name from the architectural feature of the building – the red brick exterior walls. The venue is excellent for concerts and cultural performances but is also equipped to host meetings and conventions of various sizes.
The Main Hall has a grand large stage with a height of 12 meters. It has fixed theatre seating of up to 2,002, suitable for medium sized conventions.
There is also an International Conference Hall with equally high ceiling, and a capacity of 542 persons in theatre seating. Seats on the lower level can be arranged as classroom or theatre-style, while the seats on the upper deck are fixed theatre style. It is equipped with facilities and booths for six-language simultaneous interpretation.
There are five smaller meeting rooms with capacity for 33 persons in classroom-style arrangement, and these can be partitioned into two each. The lounge next to the Conference Hall is good for tea-break, reception or even small desktop exhibition. There is also a VIP room for use as board meeting or holding area for important guests, but the furniture and interior décor seemed a bit outdated.
This venue is unique and thoughtful in that it has also dedicated special rooms and courtyard for traditional tea ceremony. Foreign delegates on a busy schedule need not step out of the brick hall for a taste of Japanese tradition.
