Designed by the renowned architect – Mr Kengo Kuma – the Garden Terrace Nagasaki sits on a hillside halfway to the Mt Inasa Observatory. The building, with its unique architectural features, has won several design and construction awards. The building’s exterior to interior of guest rooms exude modern chic design, with use natural material such as wood, stones and allows natural sunlight where possible.
Originally a designed as a wedding hotel, complete with its own wedding chapel, the hotel now welcomes MICE groups and is well equipped to handle small to medium size conferences or gala events.
Main ballroom, the Grand Terrace, can accommodate up to 200 guests in classroom-style seating, or 280 guests for banquet, or 500 guests in theatre-style arrangement. It has a fair ceiling height of 4.5 meters. Natural daylight through multiple windows is a key architectural feature of this building, which sometimes spells disaster for daytime AV projections. Yet, at the touch of a button, roll-down blinds quickly block-out much of the sunlight to ensure crisp and clear AV presentations. The room is also well equipped with roll-down screens, AV, projectors and lighting systems. The Grand Terrace can be partitioned into 2 to cater to different group sizes.
2 smaller rooms on the second floor are available for breakout sessions for about 40 guests. There is the 80-seat all-glass wedding chapel offering spectacular panoramic view of the city, as well as fountain effects.
There are 5 F&B outlets serving Japanese tepanyaki, sushi, French cuisine, wine etc.
Unlike most Japanese hotels that have relatively small guest rooms, Garden Terrace Nagasaki offers fairly large, luxurious rooms and bathtubs with a view. This is, first and foremost, a wedding hotel, hence a little luxury and romance can be expected.
The Garden Terrace Nagasaki Hotel is an excellent choice for private conference away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
