Apart from large venues for up to 500 delegates, there are also many boutique venues in Zagreb for smaller events with less than 150 people.

The Museum of Art and Crafts is a unique venue with German Renaissance architectural features. The venue has several areas for rental including the Atrium, North and South Halls, Auditorium for seminars, and an open summer terrace for outdoor cocktail reception. However, the inherent configuration and presence of pillars in some of these function areas may restrict flexibility in seating arrangement for meetings.

The Illyrian Hall in the old town area is another historic building currently very sought after for business meetings and seminars. It has several function space suitable for rental as exhibition hall or small seminar meetings. The main hall on the second floor is quite stately with high ceiling and chandeliers. It can easily sit about 140 people theatre style.

Small MICE groups with preference for hotel function venues may wish to consider the Palace Hotel and Hotel Dubrovnik. Although these hotels may look a little dated on first impression, they do throw up some delightful surprises. The Palace Hotel, opened in 1902, is one of the oldest hotels in the city. The interior decor from the lobby to the guest rooms certainly give the guests a sense of nostalgia. The cafe is cozy with a nice view of the city’s street scene. The hotel has 4 function rooms that accommodates 30 to 60 people classroom-style. The largest room is the Zrinski Gallery, a comfortable room, although the low ceiling and pillars mean that presentation projection would be blocked at certain angles.

Hotel Dubrovnik is conveniently located next to the main city square, thus guests at this hotel can definitely feel the city vibes. It has an unmistakable glass facade but the lobby area seemed stuck in the 1960s. Thankfully, the guest rooms are already undergoing renovations and the upgraded ones look comfortable. There are ten function rooms for meetings of between 12 to 112 people classroom-style. The Centrum, with a capacity of 100 people classroom style, is unique with its glass roof, although this would have to be covered up during conferences. Other function rooms located on different floors provide great street views.
