Palacio da Bolsa (Stock Exchange Palace) was built by the Porto Commercial Association on the ruins of the Saint Francis Convent. It is a national monument that is classified as a Unesco World Heritage Site. Today, it no longer functions as a stock exchange, but is still home to the Association.
The neoclassical building is a unique venue for MICE events. The famous Moorish Hall with its elaborate Persian-influenced decoration and gold trimmings, although a bit overwhelming visually, is nevertheless a grand venue to host a gala dinner for 220 guests. Formal meetings may be held in the stately Hall of Nations while other well preserved rooms may be suitable for smaller receptions.
An added value to MICE delegates is the opportunity to visit the exhibits in Palacio da Bolsa, which include the office of Gustave Eiffel, the architect of the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris.
