Glover Garden is a park on the Minami-Yamate Hill. The park was named after Thomas Blake Glover, a Scottish who was credited for contributing to the modernization of Japan in the 1800s.
Glover Garden is a well-known tourist attraction in Nagasaki as it commands a stunning view of the Nagasaki Harbour, and also for its fine collection of flora and fauna, as well as its conservation of old colonial houses.
It is also an excellent venue for MICE outdoor cocktail receptions and theme dinners. Some of the outdoor terrace can accommodate up to 300 guests for standing cocktail reception. At a corner in the park, there is a statue of Pucini. Not that the composer has ever been here, but Nagasaki is the location of Pucini’s famed opera “Madam Butterfly”. Hence, a Madame Butterfly-themed dinner at the Glover Garden might be a great idea. In case of wet weather, the traditional crafts hall in the Garden can be used as alternative.
F&B catering can be arranged with ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Gloverhill, as it is conveniently located at the foothill of the Glover Garden.
