The Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO) plays an active role in enhancing the island as a MICE destination. For example, through its partners, JTO is offering the technology to provide live or post-event broadcast of meeting sessions through smartphones and tablets; an aroma name tag scented with the unique flowers of Jeju; an iPhone/iPad “MICE Facility Guide” app to assist busy MICE visitors in navigating within the convention vicinity and even in finding attractions around the island.
It is also promoting a “Cosmetic & Beauty Course”, jointly organized with a local university, as a value-added program for MICE groups. The course, consisting make-up and hair-styling modules, can be arranged as a one-day program or three days of half-day course combined with sightseeing itinerary. Currently available for female participants, there are plans to arrange similar program for men.
